This Privacy Policy explains how FlashStory Chinese handles information when you use the app and related services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use FlashStory Chinese, we may process:

• Account information, such as your email address and sign-in identifiers.
• Learning data, such as saved vocabulary, practice history, review scheduling, and reading progress.
• Subscription and entitlement information used to determine access to Premium features. Payment processing is handled by Apple and our subscription service provider; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
• Technical information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service, such as app errors, device/app information, and request logs.
• Content you request the service to process, including vocabulary or story context used for supported learning features.

Guest use and accounts

You may be able to use parts of FlashStory Chinese before creating a permanent account. The app may create an anonymous service identity so core features can work securely. If you later create or link an account, eligible learning data may be associated with that account.

How we use information

• Provide reading, saved-word, practice, account, and subscription features.
• Save and synchronize eligible learning data.
• Prevent abuse, protect accounts, and enforce usage limits.
• Generate supported learning assets such as contextual word imagery.
• Diagnose crashes and reliability issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Service providers

FlashStory Chinese relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers for functions such as authentication and cloud data storage, subscriptions, app distribution, error monitoring, hosting, and AI-powered features. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us or as otherwise permitted by their own terms and privacy policies.

AI-powered features

Some learning features may use third-party AI services. When such a feature is used, the minimum content reasonably needed to fulfill the request may be sent to the relevant provider. Do not submit sensitive personal information through learning-content fields.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security and legal records, and provide your account. Some locally stored app data may remain on your device until the app is removed or its data is cleared.

Account deletion

FlashStory Chinese provides an in-app account deletion flow. Deleting your FlashStory Chinese account removes eligible account data from our systems, subject to limited retention where required for security, fraud prevention, financial records, or legal compliance.

Your choices

You can choose whether to create a permanent account, manage your subscription through Apple, change supported app preferences, and request account deletion through the app.

Children

FlashStory Chinese is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us through the Support page.

International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
